The Accident Book Workflow
Overview of the Accident Book workflow, including how reports move from Accident Report into the Accident Book and what happens at each stage.
This guide explains the Accident Book workflow and how reports progress from a new submission to a closed case.

How reports move from Accident Reports to Accident Book
- A driver or manager creates a new report in Accident Reports.
- Once the report is reviewed and accepted for processing, it enters the Accident Book.
- In the Accident Book, administrative and insurance-related fields become editable alongside the original accident data.
Editing management fields
Inside a report in the Accident Book, you can maintain the following management fields:
- ZD Info: internal reference and central dispatch information.
- Insurance Notification: whether and when the accident was reported to the insurer.
- Video Submission: whether dashcam/video material has been submitted, and the submission date.
These fields are edited in the report's detail view and saved with the Save button.
Tracking progress with checkboxes
Use the status checkboxes to track how the case is progressing:
- Through Own Insurance: the case is being handled via your own insurance.
- Own Damage Settled: your own damage has been settled.
- File Closed: the entire file is closed.
As soon as File Closed is checked, the record moves from In Progress to Completed.
Viewing the change history
- Open the report you want to inspect.
- Click View History.
- A chronological list of all field changes is displayed, including:
- Which field was changed
- The previous and new value
- The user who made the change
- The timestamp of the change
The history helps with audits and compliance reviews.
How records move from "In Progress" to "Completed"
- As long as the checkbox File Closed is not set, the record stays under In Progress.
- Once File Closed is ticked, the record is automatically moved to the Completed tab.
- Closed records remain fully accessible, and you can reopen them by unchecking File Closed.
